What is is?

Cryolipolysis is a tried, tested and proven inch loss process using advanced technology, more commonly referred to as Fat Freezing, Cool Sculpting®, Ice Lipo or Cool Slimming.  As a non-surgical alternative to Liposuction, this treatment has become one of the “go-to” procedures for eliminating unwanted body fat.
The treatment relies on the controlled cooling of fat tissue. The simple procedure has vacuum cups placed on the chosen areas of fat and the triglycerides (fat cells) are cooled to between -1 and -7 degrees. These unwanted fat cells are unable to survive at this temperature, they die and are then eliminated naturally through the bodies lymphatic drainage system. The surrounding areas of tissue remain unharmed and over a period of 12 weeks the body will reshape.

Let's talk science.

So let us explain the basic science and brief history of Cryolipolysis Fat Freezing. Until 2010 the removal of fat was usually achieved by liposuction or abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) surgery. Whilst these methods both provide good results they are an invasive treatment posing many risks and cost an average of £4,000 - £5,000, Reports as far back as the 1900's document adipose tissue and its sensitivity to cold. In the 1970's it was reported fat necrosis (cell death) in an infant who had been sucking on an ice lolly. This was then observed in adult patients to prove lipid rich tissues are susceptible to cold without the harm of other organs,  In 2007 Cryolipolysis was then introduced as a method for fat elimination and in 2012 is received FDA approval.

When we eat, our body converts any calories it doesn't need into  triglycerides . The triglycerides are stored in our fat cells and if we regularly eat more calories than we burn, particularly empty calories like carbohydrates, sugars and fats, we can find ourselves with triglycerides, commonly known as fat bulges. Luckily approx 25% of these fat cells can now be eliminated in one treatment of Fat Freezing
